I have mixed feelings in regards to DELL products. I just recently purchased a second hand dell laptop from a friend of a friend. He gave me a REALLY good deal on it. No It's not hot, the catch was that it didnt have the AC adaptor because his blew up. "No problem" I thought. "I'll just pick up a universal adaptor from my friendly neighborhood electronics shop". I went through 2 adaptors that both claim to support DELL products before I realised that DELL are the only people on the market that use a 19.5 volt adapter for their product. So the next step was to order it from the website. The adapter itself was cheep enough compaierd to the horrendus amounts I was spending on universal adapters. On the down side, it took 3 weeks to arrive. I enjoy the laptop itself eventhough it weighs alot but I dont want to be down for weeks on end if something ever goes wrong. Why not make their product a little more universal? The adapetr itself is unlike anything Ive ever seen On a side note, Ryan, whats with you and the ferocious beast? Thats not the first drawing of him that I have seen in your work.

I very much enjoy Maggie and The Ferocious Beast. Yes, I know it's for toddlers, but the Ferocious Beast never fails to slay me. Also, I have a rather large Beast Pillow. Observe. While it was really more of a joke gift from my mom, I still like having it around, because I can never have too many pillows. As far as DELL goes, I have no issues with the company or their computers, except for the whole spyware issue. The story is about Edwin, after all. I really don't have any allegiances to any kind of computer companies or whatnot, because it's not really my scene.

The only Dell computer I've ever liked was this old 386 laptop I had for four hours before I broke it like so many other things. It was smaller than a binder and light as anything. It had no internal drives. Only one floppy that plugged into the back, but it was sweet. It was also fuzzy, which is hard to believe, but I've still got the floppy drove to prove it.
I don't know, Dell isn't that bad I guess. The new systems are so quite they're below a whisper, and that's pretty awesome. Also, you can get them serviced locally (here anyway), so they've come a long way.

Ryan, The pillow is awesom! I almost wish I had one.
Some other spur of the moment DELL pros and cons,
Pro: This laptop boots up faster than any other computer I've ever seen. And I never noticed it until Edwin mentioned it but this thing is also quiter than a whisper...
Con: Exploding batteries! and all the extra shitty software they mash into these things. Also DELL does not supply windows discs whith their systems.
Where the hell do you get their machines serviced, when I was looking i couldnt find anywhere that would do it!

Well, the CBit over in St. James is qualified. That's here though, so I have no idea if there's a chain of service places nationwide that would be able to do it.

I wanted to post this last thursday but I didnt have time.
I was concerned with a possible flaw in your last dell comic. The fact that dell was using "Hippi Magic" by rubbing toads on dell keyboards seemed completely irrelivent to the fact that Edwin became hypnotised after viewing one of dell's commercials. He didn't even touch a keyboard to go into his psychadellic trance. How do you explain this?

Damns! So very close... Need to tie the two together. Maybe instead of 'so Dell makes use of...' should be 'Then when people order their computers Dell makes use of...'
Now I've just got to think of a way to wrap up this story arc... Ideas welcome

I dunno. I think it works just fine. Sure it doesn't say just how the commercials hypnotize people, but it all fits together. Like the comic says, the commercial puts people in a very temporary Dell trance, and then they order the computer, which (thanks to the hippie magic and toad juice) will keep them hooked. I'd make some kind of metaphor, but I don't think anything else works quite that way.

The toad is the magic, and the commercial is the catalyst. It could work... You just need to tie in the part where Edwin actually touches the magical toad slime.

If you'll recall part two, Ryan mentions that Edwin has been like that "ever since he bought that Dell laptop" so we're assuming by the time the others found him that way, he's long since touched it. Tied in, set, and match. I think.

We're in for a scuffle for sures! Seriously, the three panel one was just supposed to be a transition and the real one should come before next thursday, but Ryan will probably stretch it and wait the full week.
At least it's going to end soonish. I've been getting sick of the 'to be continued' boxes...

Yeah, I'm going to run the next one on Thursday. Not doing so would just confuse the regulars who don't make use of these spiffy forums. SHAME SHAME DOUBLE SHAME on thems.
But there are only two strips left in this arc, so it's not so bad. Really, it works perfectly, because it ends on the last week of October, and the way we're going with the story could easily segue into a nice Halloween bonus comic (I'm thinking filler-quality here). FORESHADOWING! Kind of.
It's kind of funny though, the first three were so colour-tastic and light-hearted, and the last three are all dark and serious(ish). Nice 180 we did there, eh? CAPS!

Ill have you know I plan on stealing one point of Karma from Edwin every day until this DELL thing pans out. Im almost tempted to start a ghost account to take it out on the both of you, but that requires things like time and effort and you know.....

Congrats on the comic this week. Though it didnt completely pan out, I did laugh, and the artwork was very nicely done. Maybe I can give Edwins Karma a break this week.
