I'm looking into a theme that's easy to modify, then I'll change it up to suit the site better before I move everything over. We'll be sticking with YaBB, but I can change the smilies if that's really a problem. I just poked around the settings for a few minutes before work yesterday and I think I saw something or other about it.
Gotta get to work for 1:00pm today until 9:00pm, so I don't know how far I'll get with my theme search today

Well... That was easy... www.coozyforhire.com/forumIt was built into our control panel. I'm going to throw random crap at it and see if it's any good. It could be deleted anytime so don't go getting settled in.

The big thing is that forums are the most resource intensive part of any site. It's because of the fact that they have to reload pages often and need to do lots of MySQL queries and PHP parsing. I'll look into stuff this week and see what I can do. If you want to avoid ads (I currently see none on this page for example), you can check out this page: www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htmJust makes sure you backup the original hosts file so if something doesn't go right you can undo your changes.

There was plans of Edwin getting a nephew so that Edwin would tell him "be good, or the nightmare machine will get you!" and then the kid looks outside and the nightmare machine is like, under his window. I'm sure I'll run it eventually.
I also enjoy this week's art. And I'm also quite happy with the archives when I run through them. I've been trying to get the penguins into another comic for forevers, but I just can't think of what they could do.

We could do it about things that are orange.
But seriously I think tech is common enough for alot of people to be interested, but I suppose it's not good if you don't care. Video games has been done to death, so brainstorming must be done.

This is what I was going to post in the 'Forum Recreation' thing.
I'm thinking what we need is some sort of angle. There are lots of sites that do webcomics based on video games, college life, real life, and so on. We sort of work on whatever I find funny at the time, and while I think it's doing okay, there's some problems with it.
First, some people may be able to relate to some of our stuff, but I don't think there are enough to form any sort of respectable fan base. Like I said, we have no angle, so nothing really sets us apart.
Second, and much more pressing is that it's hard to find things to write about. The Penny Arcade guys have it pretty easy; they just sit down at a site like IGN and find news stories they can make fun of. Sure, they'll work in some personal scripts when the need or feeling arises, but the fact that they have a stream of possible content is a nice cousion. I have nothing like that.
I've been seriously considering sitting on the pages of Digg.com to find stories to write about. Anyone opposed to a computer themed comic with random crap splashed in every now and again?
(I didn't proof read this, if it makes no sense, I'll fix it some other time)

I would like to think anything that I produce that gets posted directly to the site should be considered filler. I was working on some the day Jerry was unleashed upon the world, and it's somewhat elaborate.

Well, the reason Ryan is in all of them in the begining is because he wanted to be the star of the comic. I don't think he ever said it, but knowing Ryan and his ways, that was how it was supposed to roll out. After about the first 10 comics I think I bothered him enough about it so that the people who were actually there were put into the strips properly. I think that's better instead of Ryan superimposing himself over those who know what happened first hand. I mean, Spare! was mostly Me, Ryan, and a bunch of other people sitting around during spare remembering all the crazy crap that happened while we were there, there's no way Ryan experienced it all himself.
And yeah, there are a few that appeal to a wider audience coming up, so they'll be some good stuff rolling.
Doug, if you would like to be the forum guy, find some webspace, set something up and e-mail the link to me. EdwinGuy@GMail.com gets checked quite often, so if you can work something, go for it. I'll make a new post in the forum upkeep section.
Oh, and Ryan, when you write your e-mail address with [at] and then put your actual address in the 'mailto:' you nullify the whole point. GMail has good filters, so I don't think you really need to worry about that crap (especially since the 'mailto:' is all they're reading to get your address anyway and not what's in the anchor).

We're in for a scuffle for sures! Seriously, the three panel one was just supposed to be a transition and the real one should come before next thursday, but Ryan will probably stretch it and wait the full week.
At least it's going to end soonish. I've been getting sick of the 'to be continued' boxes...

Damns! So very close... Need to tie the two together. Maybe instead of 'so Dell makes use of...' should be 'Then when people order their computers Dell makes use of...'
Now I've just got to think of a way to wrap up this story arc... Ideas welcome

Well, the CBit over in St. James is qualified. That's here though, so I have no idea if there's a chain of service places nationwide that would be able to do it.
