I've made a thread for responding to the survey I posted on the CFH blog. If you want to respond here, feel free. You can also send me an e-mail with your answers if you don't like using the forums. Here are the questions again, should they be displaced from the main page.
1. How often do you visit Coozy For Hire? 2. How long have you been reading? 3. How did you first find Coozy For Hire? (link, word-of-mouth, etc) 4. Which character would you like to see more of? (of any character who has previously appeared in the comic) 5. Do you prefer story arcs or single comics? 6. Do you read most/all of our blog posts? 7. What do you think of the Spare! side-comic? 8. Would you join/particpate more in the forums if they were ad-free?
All (non-smartass) responses are appreciated.

8. Would you join/particpate more in the forums if they were ad-free? I see no ads. Yes, but commoners do. Also, that's about as useful as me filling out the damn thing.

8. Would you join/particpate more in the forums if they were ad-free? I see no ads. You have to be insane right? I mean, there are ads at the top AND bottom of the screen! Here are my responces: 1. How often do you visit Coozy For Hire?Since I consider myself your number one fan, I would feel great disapointment if I didnt cycle through your site atleast once per day. I mean, I know it only gets updated twice a week, But I have worked it into a well knit schedual I have. There are the few odd days that I dont have access to a computer or that I'm buisy doing other things. So, close to every day. 2. How long have you been reading?Since before time itself. Being the great diety that I am, I have forseen through the power of divination what potential this site possess and what is to come. 3. How did you first find Coozy For Hire? (link, word-of-mouth, etc)I think it might have been Mike. I can't remember precicley, but I'm pretty sure the credit goes to Mike... and superpowers. 4. Which character would you like to see more of? (of any character who has previously appeared in the comic)THE NIGHTMARE MACHINE! 5. Do you prefer story arcs or single comics?Stories that last longer than three or four arcs tend to be just right unless they actually have a real story line in which case it's accaptable. In certain instances where the creators tent to stretch a simple plot into a meaningless ten story arc that has plot holes and little comedic value tend to make me homocidle. Luckily alcohol induced combas tend to supress the rage until the whole thing blows over. 6. Do you read most/all of our blog posts? All of them. I can't get enough of that Edwin 7. What do you think of the Spare! side-comic?It doesnt have quite the potential that the main stip has. Most of the events depicted are "It's funny if you were there there" situations. Speaking of which lines like "Again, one I wasn't really there for, but I heard the story so many times I'm starting to imagine that maybe I was." dont really constitute materialising yourself at that one point in history by thusly editing youself in and telling everyone you were infact not. However, on the other hand, it is extremely nice to have something such as this to look forward to on my saturday morning hangover. I usually accompany it with my greasy bacon and eggs and a tall glass of water/juice and/or maybe a beer to take the edge off. Also I dont have to wait an entire week for an update. I can be guaranteed to comeback and have the main page updated atleast two of seven days out of the week. That ratio being much better that the prevoius one of seven. It seriously means alot to me. 8. Would you join/particpate more in the forums if they were ad-free?I find that I already contribute alot. Does anyone seriously even lurk here? If so, my message to you is quit being so much like a horney stalker. You know you want to post something, just do it. Why watch 3 guys wright meaningless banter back and forth and not be atleast curtious anough to reply and contribute. Things like this need all the support they can get. If there are infact 50-60 unique IP addresses per month, that means that each one of these people is an elligible candidate for contribution. SO CONTRIBUTE! you can only recieve appraise, whats the downside? I believe I've already stated my positon on the forums. If you have the time to re-vamp them, I'd recommend it. There are a slew of free message boards that are way better than proboards. If you dont have the time and/or the energy these are fine. I dont know if "ad-free" will be a particullar drawing point, but it cretainly is a nice aspect. EDIT: Sorry, I didnt see the "No smartass comments" lable until after I wrote this. Feel free to modify it as you please.

Meh. There was nothing there that I was thinking of when I added the "no smartass coments" bit.
Spare! is there not so much to entertain, but to provide nostaliga for Edwin, and so I can save them from the terrible fate of fading away (what with the originals being penicl on paper, a medium that doesn't age too well). Though later on in the series, it does become less of a big in-joke. I think "a school-oriented version of Dilbert" would describe it best. Or maybe not so much.
And Edwin doesn't see ads because he tampered with some file thing somewhere that makes them disappear (for him).

Well, the reason Ryan is in all of them in the begining is because he wanted to be the star of the comic. I don't think he ever said it, but knowing Ryan and his ways, that was how it was supposed to roll out. After about the first 10 comics I think I bothered him enough about it so that the people who were actually there were put into the strips properly. I think that's better instead of Ryan superimposing himself over those who know what happened first hand. I mean, Spare! was mostly Me, Ryan, and a bunch of other people sitting around during spare remembering all the crazy crap that happened while we were there, there's no way Ryan experienced it all himself.
And yeah, there are a few that appeal to a wider audience coming up, so they'll be some good stuff rolling.
Doug, if you would like to be the forum guy, find some webspace, set something up and e-mail the link to me. EdwinGuy@GMail.com gets checked quite often, so if you can work something, go for it. I'll make a new post in the forum upkeep section.
Oh, and Ryan, when you write your e-mail address with [at] and then put your actual address in the 'mailto:' you nullify the whole point. GMail has good filters, so I don't think you really need to worry about that crap (especially since the 'mailto:' is all they're reading to get your address anyway and not what's in the anchor).
